Founded in 2020, SMJ Ventures is a multifamily investment firm specializing in syndications and joint ventures. We focus on purchasing properties in growing markets where value can be added through strategic renovations and/or lowering expenses thereby raising net operating income. These buildings are typically mismanaged, have significant deferred maintenance, or have not kept up with rent inflation. SMJ Ventures finds the properties, manages the asset and offers equity investments to our partners/investors.

I’ve invested in three deals with SMJ Ventures over the last three years. Two of the deals sold in 2022 and provided returns far above what was originally forecasted. Christian has always over-communicated regarding the status of my investments and has always treated me as a partner and not just another investor.
As a stock market and crypto investor, I’ve always stayed away from Real Estate investing as I thought buying a large apartment building was out of reach. When Christian came to me with an opportunity in 2020 to invest in a syndication, I decided to give it a try. That property sold at the end of 2022. I received great cash flow and a large return upon the sale all while my stocks and crypto were down in value. I’ve since gone on to invest in multiple other properties. Christian and I have been friends for 10+ years. As a detail oriented, full time stock trader, I was interested in learning about SMJ Ventures and their business model.
